Tips and Tricks: If you want to bring your feathered friends around all year long, we suggest trying out different style feeders and changing up your seed offerings to observe what suits your bird habitat best. We recommend that you place your feeders close to vegetation, in quiet and convenient places, about 4’ up from the ground and 10’ away from any strong branches or squirrel launching spots. Use tubes, hoppers, squirrel resistant or specialized bird feeders such as wire mesh tube feeders that do not have perches. Wire mesh feeders attract clinging birds such as woodpeckers and nuthatches. Use a baffle to deter squirrels and other wildlife.

Review RateGood valueBirds here in Northern New Mexico (Finches, Juncos, etc.) prefer this seed to the safflower seed I had purchased previously from another vendor. The seed does have quite a high level of non-edible components (sticks, twigs, and other duff). Overall, an acceptable product that is cost-effective.
