These features are examples of the great resources we provide at birdfeeders.com:
Q: How do I clean my Mason Jar bird feeder?
A: This feeder is very easy to clean thanks to its wide-mouth opening.
- Remove excess seed and rinse
- Scrub lightly with a soap-and-water solution
- Allow the feeder to drip-dry
- Shelled Pumpkin Seedss
Q: Why do I want shell-free bird seed?
A: The seeds in this bird seed mix have had their shells removed. The shells are removed by Lyric® so you don't have to clean the shells from underneath your feeder. Further, these seeds will have a far more difficult time germinating without their shells, which means you won't have weeds growing under your feeder.
Q: Where should I hang my new bird feeder
A: Bird feeders are best hung at least 4 feet off the ground. This height makes it difficult for squirrels and cats to jump up on the feeder.
The feeder should also be kept 12 to 20 feet away from shrubs, fences and buildings. This distance is recommended to keep squirrels from leaping on to the feeders from such "launch pads."
Finally, protect your birds from predators by keeping your feeders away from areas that could serve as ambush points, such as dense shrubs.
