Review RatePerky Pet Triple Tube Copper Finish BirdfeederThis is my second purchase of this feeder. Years ago, I purchased my first which lasted many, many years. A small part wore out and broke over time. I contacted the company for a replacement part. They asked me to email them a picture of the part that was broken along with a photo of the entire feeder. They then sent me a free replacement feeder free!
I've since replaced that older model with this newer, copper-colored one and could not be happier with the product. It's an excellent feeder for the birds. I've mounted mine on a galvanized pipe pole with a squirrel baffle under the feeder.
Great product at a great price. The birds love it.
Review RateThe birds and I love this feeder! This becomes the third of this type of feeder I now have in use. They attract many species of birds. I have birds flocking in by the dozens. The love the feeders so much I have to frequently refill them. I have counted as many as 24 male Cardinals at one time! I get many species of woodpeckers, wrens, finches, bluejays, mocking birds, and numerious migrating birds. We love to sit at the breakfast table with a cup of coffee and enjoy the wonderment of the feeders(I may have to put up a forth feeder!). Great feeders!
Review RatePlease Redesign the feeding ports!I bought this 2 months ago and love its capacity, design, looks, seed tray, and oversized hood that protects the seed and birds and makes it easy to fill. BUT. . . the flimsy plastic ports keep falling out and getting lost on the ground. When that happens, all the seed in that tube falls out and makes the tube essentially useless. Please redesign it with metal feeding ports that won't fall out. I would be willing to pay a little extra for that feature.Response From Perky-Pet®Patty : Consumer Relations RepresentativeWe appreciate the time taken to provide this feedback and apologize for the experience. Review RateWife Loves New Feeder!I purchased the Triple Tube Bird Feeder as a present for my wife, she absolutely loves it! The quality construction and look is top notch, and a large variety of birds are continually feeding....we couldnt be happy with our purchase.
Review RateQuality construction and designBought this a few weeks ago and I love it. And birds love it too. I particularly like the 3 separate tubes for 3 types of seed.
Review RateGreat feeder but starting to rust after 4 months.I purchased this feeder about 4 months ago and it started out great. However, it has now rusted on all metal parts. I had hoped that at this price it would have lasted a bit longer. Still it has been the best feeder I have ever purchased.
Review RateI love my new triple feeder!!Perky pet had exactly what I was looking for and the price was the best around. Ordering on line took only a few minutes, and the product showed up days earlier than expected. What a great company!! This new feeder replaced one I had for 12 years and it was exactly what I was looking for!!
Review RateEasy to useThis is my third one of these and am very please with them.
Review RateSquirrels love the plasticThis feeder was delivered October 16 from Amazon. After a couple weeks, the top of the feeder around the hanger has been chewed and can barely be screwed on. I don't see anyplace to order a new top so for me this was a big waste of money. Not very happy with this purchase.Response From Perky-Pet®Tara : Consumer Relations RepresentativeWe apologize for this experience and appreciate the feedback. This feeder is backed by a one year warranty. Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) for further assistance with replacing the baffler.
Review RateThe best I can say... is simply \"okay\".My parents bought this feeder for me off of Amazon for Christmas of 2015 (so a year before writing this). It was half the price it usually is - only about $35. For a feeder this size and quality, that's a really good price. Would I be willing to pay $50 - 70 for it? Eh... Read more to figure it out.
This feeder is very good for crowd control. In the winter, I get massive flocks of Red-Winged Blackbirds, Dark-Eyed Juncos, European Starlings, and many other birds. Smaller feeders often lead to overcrowding - which leads to aggression and can even lead to horrible fights that can end up with other birds being injured or even chased away from your property. The multiple ports allow for comfortable dining, and helps a lot with crowd control. Feeders like this normally only attract small to medium sized birds, but my Mourning Doves are barely able to squeeze their plump bodies on the bottom tray. It's actually really cute, especially considering I have a platform feeder on the ground not even two feet away.
I only recommend this feeder if you have a lot of birds in your yard. This feeder is very strong - holding 10 pounds of seed with no problem. During the winter, when I have easily 200 - 300 birds in my yard during the peak of the day, the feeder becomes empty within a day or two. On two occasions (at least occasions I've seen), this feeder has been tackled full-on by a Cooper's Hawk who frequents my yard - and didn't have a scratch.
A feeder like this works very well if you do not have a lot of time to fill your feeders or may even have a physical disability that makes it difficult to refill feeders constantly. On that note, there's something about this feeder that makes it incredibly difficult to use - the fact it is very difficult to clean. There's a tiny portion at the bottom (I would say about 0.5 inches high) that food cannot be reached by birds - and can lead to horrible rotting. I would recommend putting chicken grit or pea gravel at the bottom and change it out every month or two to make sure no horrible rotting happens.
Cleaning high traffic feeders is important. Diseases like Avian Flu and House Finch Eye Disease can be easily spread at these feeders, if not well cleaned. Taking this feeder apart is a nightmare of guessing - I couldn't find anything online telling me how to take it apart. Some berries and seeds had somehow gotten underneath one of the tubes, resulting in horrible, awful rotting. It's not enough to simply wash the tube with a little water and soap - I highly encourage taking it apart and scrubbing the tubes down.
Included with the feeder are a few perches for the ports, which helps smaller birds who aren't that great at climbing dine comfortably. I had no idea that you were actually supposed to hammer these, and lost nearly all the ports within 3 months of owning the feeder. I tried contacting Perky Pets about it, and searched the website for replacements - with no luck. As for the squirrel proof part, it does a pretty good job. Just make sure there's nothing for squirrels to jump on near the feeder.
Overall, this feeder is ok. You decide if you wanna pay full price for this feeder or not.Response From Perky-Pet®Tara : Consumer Relations RepresentativeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We apologize for this experience and would be happy to provide replacement ports. This feeder is backed by a one year warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What are the most popular bird seeds to use?
A: Black Oil Sunflower Seed is the most popular bird seed. It is much smaller than the traditional sunflower seed and best for those birds with smaller bills, such as the sparrow, junco and goldfinch. This seed is accepted by the greatest variety of birds.
Mixed Seed is also popular. It is best to buy the mixes that contain white proso millet, a tiny cream colored seed with a shiny shell. Mixes containing finely cracked corn and black oil sunflower are also preferred by a large number of birds.
Niger (Thistle Seed) is imported from Africa and Asia. Niger won't germinate, but it does have a tendency to become moldy due to lack of air circulation. If you notice mold on the seed, it must be removed from the feeder and the feeder must be cleaned thoroughly.
Q: How do I clean my bird feeders?
A: Before filling your feeder with fresh seed, it is recommended that the following precautions are taken:
- Remove all old seed.
- Soak feeder in a light water/bleach solution (9 parts water to 1 part bleach).
- Scrub feeder and allow to air dry.
- Rake and remove accumulated hulls and droppings from underneath the feeders.
- Spread mulch (bark or wood) under the feeder, replace mulch when soiled.
- Thoroughly wash hands after handling and cleaning feeders.
Q: What is the importance of providing water for wild birds?
A: Wild birds need fresh, clean water just as much as they need seed. Birds stay healthy by using water not just for drinking, but also for bathing, cleaning their feathers and to remove parasites. Waterers are better options than bird baths because they provide birds with fresh, clean water that prevents dirt and debris from contaminating it. In hotter climates or seasons, providing water for birds makes it easy for them to have access to a water source and retain their energy. By adding a water source, you also can attract a larger variety of birds to your yard. You may even attract more colorful birds that don't eat seed, but are in need of water!
