Description
Transparent Squirrel Baffler

Perky-Pet® Transparent Squirrel Baffler

Squirrels have a way of ransacking a bird feeder, dumping all the feed onto the ground and making a mess of things. If you find peace in watching wild birds at the bird feeder--but not so much those pesky squirrels, this Perky-Pet® Transparent Squirrel Baffler can help. With its large 16-inch diameter and gently curved dome-shaped profile, there's no getting around it: birds can enjoy eating at the feeder, and squirrels will be blocked from bothering them. Save money on seed, reduce time refilling and cleaning up, and enjoy a less stressful viewing experience with this baffler in place. It promotes a more efficient way to feed wild birds and can be used with any bird feeder.

Hang or Pole Mount

This transparent 16-inch squirrel baffler can be hung or pole mounted. When hanging the baffler, it blocks squirrels from above. The included hooks have the strength to hold up to 50 pounds. The top hook attaches the baffler to a tree limb or other hanging location, while the bird feeder hangs from the second hook located underneath the baffler. Most squirrels will descend the wire to the baffler and give up. A more persistent squirrel may put its weight on the baffler in efforts to access the bird feeder below, but after climbing onto the baffler, it will quickly tilt, sending the squirrel down to the ground (startled maybe, but uninjured). The hanging baffler has the added benefit of partially protecting bird seed from rain and tree debris.

When placed on bird feeder poles, this baffler prevents squirrels from gaining access to the bird feeder from below. Squirrels may try to climb up to the feeder, but they won't be able to get around the baffler. To pole mount this baffler, simply lower it over the top of the pole and screw it into place. About a foot below the feeder works best. Everything needed for either hanging or pole mounting comes included: a 16-inch-diameter transparent shield and all hardware (2 hooks, 1 baffle hub, and 3 screws).

Perky Pet® Transparent Squirrel Baffler is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 290.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Working thus far, Our feeder has been up several days and so far I have not seen a squirrel feeding on it. They are pesky and persistent animals. Other feeders that we have tried seem to be an invitation to dinner. This one seems to attract the birds that we wish to invite, but we have given up mixed feed and are purchasing black oil sunflower seeds, thistle, and safflower seeds. I am very happy with this feeder and am

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Started out good.... I bought this 3 weeks ago and was so happy with it, initially the squirrels couldn't get at the seeds, now they have chewed through the plastic ports and ruined the springs, seed is pouring through a hole in one of the sides...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works but not squirrel proof Bought several of these and forthe most parts. Seems the squirrels found that if you yank the metal leaves by the feed ports, they come off and then allow full access to the seeds. I realize the feeders have year warranty, but who keeps receipts. I'll try some HB weld and see it I can get them to stay on. Other than that, birds have accepted them completely. Easy to feed, and maintain

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Squirrel Baffle Large diameter protects the feeder. I also like the hooks above and below. I bought a different baffle a few years ago that had a hole in the top for hanging the feeder and it just let water through and let the food get wet. This is much better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor feeded I purchased this feeder in the spring of 2016....it is not squirrel proof. The squirrel's were able to dismantle the feeder ports & eat thru the plastic to gain access to the bird feed. Once the squirrel's got at the plastic parts of the feeder, they were able to chew holes into the feeder - about 2x2 inch holes. Consequently, the feeder would not hold any bird feed - very disappointed in this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bottom Not Secured Just bought this tonight I filled it as soon as we got home. So excited that we found the latest and greatest squirrel prof bird feeder. I filled the feeder and went to hang it. 4 feet from the house the bottom fell out!!!! All the bird seed all over the sidewalk. So disgusted. I could probably shove the bottom back on but I am afraid there will be a repeat performance

How do you take it apart to clean feeder?

This feeder can be taken apart by removing the springs attached from the metal cage to the inner tube. The tube will then detach from the base at the bottom and allow it to slide out of the metal cage.
