Not just for kids! December 15, 2011

I ordered this kit for myself and makes a great gift for any backyard birder, not just kids. It's actually a great value considering all the items you get. I have plenty of feeders out in the backyard and this is my first window feeder. Takes the birds a few days to approach it but once one does, all the others want to join in! I have this attached to my window by the dining table. I was having lunch, a house finch stopped by and we were watching each other eat! I certainly enjoy watching the birds up close.

The suction cups do their job, been having wind gusts and cold rain and the window box has not moved. As a general rule with suction cups, I wetted the cups before attaching to the glass. Also keeps the feed (and any birds)dry from the rain. However, I think this is best for waste free or already shelled feed. Otherwise it takes a bit of time to sort out hulls from the good food during refill time.
