This works perfectly and doesn't seem to attract ants or wasps as the old ones have. It holds close to 4 cups of nectar which you can fill from the top!!! It is suggested that it should be cleaned with hot /warm water (no soap) prior to refilling to avoid mold. I use bleach water (one cap full to the gallon) to kill any existing germs. Then I rinse several times. Then let completely dry before refilling with room-temperature nectar of 3-cups of water to one cup of pure cane sugar. Have to be careful during the hanging process, as the clear part is glass, not plastic.

I've had several styles of the Perky Pet units over the years. Most recently I found I was filling each of the two smaller feeders as much as three times a day. I bought two of these larger units and now only fill each unit once a day.
I've found that I still need to deep clean them about ever fourth day as the heat outside right now is an issue for turning the 4-1 mixture a bit gummy over time. However, with a slight bit of care they are easily disassembled and cleaned. There is a small pilot or bleed hole in the unit that requires attention during the cleaning. Again, no big issue at all. These are some very nice units and I'm glad I found them as I was tired of having to fill the smaller units off and on every few hours.
Another positive is the fact I had Orioles raiding my other units, these two they do not bother at all.

Wow! We have this feeder set up on our property in the mountains near Shenandoah National Park and we have at least 8 hummers there. We are thoroughly impressed with this feeder. It is large enough to hold a hefty amount of liquid. It has perches for the birds to rest on while they drink. The birds love it. It has a wide mouth for refilling and it is solidly made. I am sold on this feeder and I want more!
Update 7/24/14: I learned not to pour hot nectar into this feeder; the glass cracked. My bad! I still like this feeder, though I did notice some leaking around the circumference of the plastic base where it comes apart. I still have another unit and I will observe it closely to determine if it also leaks. Regardless, I still like this feeder because it holds a lot and it is very easy to fill and to clean. Oh! And the dozen-or-so hummingbirds up here love it. I just ordered another...

I chose this feeder because of the brand name but mainly because the flowers WERE NOT YELLOW. Bees are attracted to yellow, they swarm and chase the hummers away. I am very pleased with this product--it has a large capacity, glass stays cleaner longer and its easy to fill and take apart. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to attract hummingbirds and discourage bees at the same time.

If you have had other hummingbird feeders you will LOVE this model...comes apart, goes thru dishwasher, and fills from top....no red sugar water dripping down your arm as you replace it on the hanger! My 2yr old grandson loves watching the birds but makes a funny SWISH noise when he sees the hummingbirds darting about...great entertainment and break from chasing him all over! Try this feeder you won't be disappointed! the hummingb irds seem to like it just fine...amazing to watch them so tiny!
Amazon Review, Nice hummingbird feeder June 20, 2013

We always have hummingbird feeders filled for the hummingbirds in our area. This hummingbird feeder is great because of the wide mouth at the top of the bottle instead of our others that has a little bottelike opening on the bottom. This one is easier to clean too. The only downside is one of the perches were broken when I received this but it doesn't stop the little hummingbirds from using it!

They thought of everything. The glass jar holds an ample amount of feed, the whole thing comes apart for easy cleaning, the top is big enough to easily poor directly from a small pot to the feeder without a funnel, and there are small perches near each flower port so our hummingbirds don't need to hover to feed.

The bird feeder comes fully assembled and is well constructed for the price. just add food and you are ready to go! Within 10 minutes, the first Hummingbird found his way to our new feeder! I have uploaded a pic to the customer images area so that you can see the actual product in use.
easiest to clean and fill and the birds love it September 20, 2012
i have bought several differnt types this year and i now have 2 on this one and I am ordering a 3rd one. This is truly the easiest to clean and fill plus the birds love it. The white flowers do get a little dirty from the nectar left behind, but are very easy to clean. I love this feeder

The Perky-Pet Glass Top Fill Hummingbird is hassle-free. Its 24-ounce capacity is twice the size of brands, so you can spend less time filling it and more time enjoying the hummingbirds.
It is easier to list the things I do not like about hummingbird feeders. Most models are difficult to fill, spill easily and require a toolbox of bottle brushes and scouring pads to clean. The more ornate models sacrifice practicality for prettiness. For my taste, the Perky-Pet Glass Top Hummingbird Feeder has the right balance of glass and plastic; that is to say it doesn't look cheap nor does it look like a mash of doo-dads and whatchamacallits.
I deduct one star for the shallow ant moat, which tends to dry fast.
