This 16 oz feeder has a plastic bowl, which makes this light-weight in comparison to say a 21 oz feeder with a glass bowl. Its bright red color and four large yellow flowers ensure hummingbirds will not miss it. The hole in the middle of the flower is larger than my other feeders. The holes are large enough for the little beak of a hummingbird to drink. The ant moat feature is pure genus. The four flower feeding stations are perfect for me. I have several 24 oz hummingbird feeders. It has an easy wide plastic bottle to pour the nectar into without any spills.

I was happy to get this plastic Perky-Pet feeder option as my last glass one fell and shattered (so not okay with little ones around). So instead of getting glass again, I'm happy to try this lightweight plastic (although I'm guessing glass is probably better for the birds). This is two pieces and easy to fill and clean. It's hot so the birds have been circling it frequently, which is wonderful. The silicone flowers are pretty too. I placed it in an area that is protected from the wind. So far Ive had no issues with leaking.

We have several hummingbird feeders including one of the most popular on Amazon. This one differs in several respects.
The body of the feeder is plastic, not glass. This makes the feeder lighter, but when filled with sugar water, we have had no problems with spills or leaks. We are not in a high wind area so this may make a difference.
One of the nicer aspects of the feeder is that nothing drips from the bottom the way many feeders do. Everything appears to be self contained and does not leak. This is an advantage over the top-selling one we have.
This is a great hummingbird feeder for those who need it to be drip free.

I've never had a problem attractive hummers to a Perky-Pet feeder. The streak continues with this midsize model. I filled it and hung it up. Within 5 minutes the Blackchins were investigating. In another 5 minutes they were fighting over it.
Assembly is quick, and this model follows the example of recent units in that the lower part disassembles easily for cleaning. The wide-mouth top fill is a welcome addition and means that the sugar solution goes into the feeder instead of down the side. The ant trap is also effective, but will need to be filled daily in our dry Western climate.
I have only the smallest complaint. As with other feeders from this maker, there's a little wire hanger taped onto the inside. This is far too small to hang onto a typical cast iron feeder stand. A larger wire loop would be a better choice. Other than that, it's quickly become a popular addition to the back yard.

What I love about this feeder is, it's a no brainer. Set up was super easy. Being a top-loader make it very easy to fill with no mess. My previous feeder broke (pour construction made refilling it a nightmare), so the hummingbirds went through withdrawals while waiting for this to arrive but, once hung, they resumed their fight for a drink.

I love watching hummingbirds & am more careful where I place their feeders since one, in a group of three that came several times a day together to feed, flew into our picture window & eventually died from the accident. How sad. Although the feeder was at least 6 feet away from the window, when the group was done eating, they tended to fly towards the house, then up over the roof. The little fellow flew into the window. He was stunned but eventually flew away. We never saw him again. The other two always came without him. So be sure to position your feeder/s in a safe place for the little hummers.
This Perky-Pet feeder fills from the top. I don't have to use a funnel to fill it which is nice. I was concerned that the nectar would spill out of the flowers when I carried it through the house, but it didn't. I always carried the other feeder upside down to prevent drips. This one can't be carried that way so I was glad nothing leaked out.
This feeder doesn't have bee guards...I wish all hummingbird feeders came with them. In the hot month of August the yellow jackets get testy in this area. I expected them to be swarming around this feeder & they did when I first hung it out, but they haven't bothered it since. So I don't know if the design makes it hard for the yellow jackets to get to the nectar or not, but at least they're not bothering it now.
As far as the water moat in the lid keeping ants out...well, the water is going to spill out when the feeder blows in the wind, & it's shallow so it will evaporate away quickly too. I'm not expecting the moat to keep the ants out.
Even with a couple negatives, this is a nice feeder. Be sure to keep it clean & rinse thoroughly. Do not leave any soap residue at all. Cleaning with a tiny brush is a good idea too. Something like this should work: SE - Brush Set - Mini Nylon, 4in., 5 Pc - TC01N
Change hummingbird food frequently...every 3 to 5 days is a good estimate. It goes bad quickly in hot weather & might need to be changed more often. Run hot water through the feeder before adding more nectar & be sure to clean it more thoroughly every 1 to 2 weeks. I think the base is a little hard to disassemble, but stick with it. Be sure to take it all apart and clean thoroughly. You don't want to make the hummers sick.
I make my own nectar. 1 part sugar - 4 parts boiled water. Boil the water, then stir in the sugar until it dissolves. Store in the refrigerator. I never use food coloring in the nectar.

This is a hard plastic bird feeder with a lid that screws off so that you can fill it from the top. I don't know why they aren't all like that!
It appears sturdy and is as attractive as a plastic feeder can be. The yellow flowers are actually soft and rubbery, as are the flower middles where the birds drink from.
The feeder does leak a little bit if it is tilted sideways. That should only be a problem if there is a lot of wind, though.

This item did just what it says it does, it feeds humming birds. The product is plastic, durable, and light. It will easily attach to a string that you can fix to a hanging nail or screw. It is not too big to be a distraction when looking out a window but is big enough to attract humming birds to you all day (unless you put water in it which my boys did and wondered by no humming birds were coming by). Overall you can't go wrong with this product for what it is designed to do.

Sturdy and very easy to fill (Thank YOU!) this adorably attractive hummingbird feeder is very easy to transport, hang and fill as advertised. You will probably have to buy your own chain as it only comes with two S links. Or have an already established feeder to hang it from, which if you're a bird lover, you will most likely have. My children think its great. I cannot tell if it will get sticky or not yet, but so far so good.

Small well made feeder. This design seems to be an improvement over a previous Perky-Pet Hummingbird Feeder I have. It is made of plastic but is durable, well constructed and has soft pliable rubber flowers, in contrast to the usual hard ones on most feeders. I like the fact it has an ant moat at the top which you can fill with water. Has a top fill wide mouth opening for simple convenient mess-free filling. Feeder will hold up to 16 ounces of nectar per use. The plastic feeder is shatterproof. To clean, just wash with warm water and soap twice a week. Feeder comes with a metal hook- it's hidden and taped underneath the lid. My only gripe is I thought the rim could be placed a bit further away from the flowers like the another reviewer mentioned. But overall simply constructed yet attractive and well made.

The Perky-Pet's Finest Yellow Flower Top Fill Plastic Hummingbird Feeder is a solid and easy to fill nectar feeder. Perfect for those who enjoy watching these fine birds buzz about your garden or backyard. Unlike other hummingbird feeders I've tried this one come completely assembled out of the box and ready to use. Just rinse out the feeder, fill it with powdered nectar into the easy top fill, hang it from an eave or post and viola! The feature I like about it is the ant moat to prevent those darn pests from invading and stealing the sweet nectar.
If you are looking for a sturdy and easy to maintain hummingbird feeder then you'll want to purchase the Perky-Pet's Finest Yellow Flower Top Fill Plastic Hummingbird Feeder. A must have for bird lovers and flower growers.
