Rated 3 out of 5 by from A love - hate relationship 1st the springs, ya they are a bit flimsy and get rusty and wear out after 2-3 years, but cheap replacements are available from Perky-pet and they haven't been to hard to replace. Love: 8 lb seed capacity, most squirrel resistant hanging feeders are much smaller and are emptied in a day. 100% success in keeping squirrels out. Hate: 3 seed sections to fill, smaller holes make it more difficult and messier to fill. Unscrewing the lid to fill. Actually you need to use the knob on the top, not the lid, the knob serves as a big threaded nut. Also getting the lid back on can be a guessing game. Clear plastic parts crack easily. REALLY HATE: The top knob seizes to the threaded rod that hold the entire feeder together. The rod will unscrew thru the lower plate and the 1,000 piece feeder falls apart. Getting it back together is a big project. I've tried all sorts of lubricating oils and greases, with zero success. Teflon plumbers tape works, but you need to re-apply it every 3-4th time you re-fill the feeder.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nightmare - well, that's a bit dramatic. I have never screwed around with a bird feeder as long and unsuccessfully as I have with this one. Thanks to a previous comment I was finally able to figure out how to open the feeder to fill it but now that's it's filled, I can't screw the top back on. Design flaw needs to be overcome. This could be good. In the meantime I'm staring at a filled but useless feeder. Customer Service not open today.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from How do you open it? I just bought this and was excited to fill it and place it in my yard. But - how do you open it? I tried turning the lid counter clockwise, but it did nothing! HELP!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Imagine my disappointment Not only did this feeder fail to prevent the squirrels from gaining access to the seeds, they destroyed several of the plastic feeding ports making the feeder useless. Even though I tried several spring tension settings, the squirrels were some how still able to feed. After 3 days I conceded defeat. However, at the next filling (after owning it 7 days) I discovered that the tubes would no longer retain seeds. The squirrels had chewed the plastic feeding portals out of two of the tubes so the seed just ran out the holes. One tube still functions, but probably not for long.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from attractive design, good price I just bought this bird feeder at ACE hardware, it was on sale and the Squirrel-be-gone title sure got my attention. Hard to fill it up, have been checking everywhere to unscrew top or bottom...and no clue! used the small openings, and with different tubes it was very difficult.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Squirrel-Be-Gone Feeder Very pleased - birds love it and no interest so far from their furry friends. Quick delivery - well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and (really) squirrel proof I bought this feeder recently and it's exceeds my expectations. It's metal construction, beats all the plastic 'squirrel proof' feeders that I have purchased. It has multiple ports, great for 'no wait' service for the birds and the three chambers are excellent for different mixes coupled with the size of the feeder, I'm not having to fill it every day. So far, the squirrels have not been able to perch on it and eat all the contents. Lastly, it's an attractive addition to my garden. Good work and thank you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs help The dome is not big enough to keep anything away or detered. Had to use a dome from a previous, now broken purchase and retro fit it to apply. That seems to be doing the job nicely.
