I needed to replace a tube feeder out our family room window. I looked at some cheaper ones but this one could go from a mixed seed to thistle seed by just turning the openings around. My wife didn't want some cheap colored feeder out that window and this had a nice copper finish. We have several other feeders off our deck but this one fits the need. I wouldn't have written a review if I didn't think it was a great value. I like the tray also. The blue jays seem to stay off it because of the size. The cardinals think it's okay too! Of course all the little guys think it's wonderful.
This winter was a good time to have it. My old tube feeder I had to reconstruct so the black oil would drop down into the opening.
Buy it Wayne!

Bird feeder looked very attractive and also came in a box that allowed us to wrap it easily for gift giving.

I got this feeder to upgrade from a homemade feeder that was falling apart. It is a beautiful copper color, it is easy to fill and to clean, and the birds love it. We get bluebirds, cardinals, finches, sparrows, wrens, and more. Being able to switch between thistle and seed is wonderful, as well has having the posts and the perch at the bottom. It isn't shabby at all, and if it lasts a year or three, the cost is absolutely worth it.

I like it, too. However, this unit is a replacement for a nearly identical one which I shattered one bitterly cold day trying to slap some ice and snow off of it. The difference: the feeding ports of my former feeder were made of metal and unbreakable, while this unit has plastic feeding ports which will break. Maybe I read the description wrong, not noticing that the ports are plastic, I don't know. It does the job, however. The squirrells enjoy the seed tray, helping them maintain their footing while raiding the sunflower seeds so that is a plus...for them. All in all, it's a good unit, a bit overpriced, but aren't they all.

A little narrow but works well. I got finch food mix in it. I like the lid mechanism. Nice feeder.

We used this feeder for 3+ years & would still be using it if a violent wind storm hadn't thrown it to the ground and broken it.
It's easy to fill, and the birds seem to love it - everything from woodpeckers to chickadees feeds there. I once counted 8 small birds feeding at the same time
Negative: difficult to clean

It works pretty well. We had another one like this made out of a little heavier materials, but this is a good replacement.

This is not a high quality feeder, but it works well and it serves the purpose. I had to bend back the metal part that holds the lid in place because it kept falling off when I'd flip it back to fill the feeder. I call my feeder grand central station because it's always full of birds. The other day it was emptied in about 2 1/2 hours.
