Remove all old seed.
Soak feeder in a light water/bleach solution (9 parts water to 1 part bleach).

I love this feeder and have used it for years BUT...the squirrels are eating the perches! Wish they were made of sturdier stuff.

The Birdscapes® Patented Upside Down® Thistle Feeder (model #399) is designed to attract and feed goldfinches. Unfortunately as you have witnessed, unwanted squirrels are also attracted to the seed in your feeder. We find one of the best ways to prevent this is by adding a squirrel baffler. The Perky Pet® Transparent Squirrel Baffler (model #: 340) can be hung or pole mounted, blocking squirrels from gaining access to your feeder.

We are sorry to hear of your experience. Please keep in mind your feeder is covered by a one year warranty. Beyond that, parts such as The Perky-Pet® Perch (model #: 185620) are available for purchase.
