The Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone™ Wild Bird Feeder features six feeding ports, U-shaped perches and a 2 lb. seed capacity. The feeding ports have sturdy metal perches that allow birds to feed comfortably but, when the squirrels perch on them, their weight causes the entire metal casing to slip down, completely blocking the feeding ports and their access to the seed.
The interior seed tower is surrounded by rustic metalwork.

A: The best thing to do is to stop feeding the birds temporarily. Remove the feeders and throw out all of the seed. Thoroughly wash your feeders as suggested in Tips for a clean feeding station. more»
Q: How do I clean my bird feeders?
A: Before filling your feeder with fresh seed, it is recommended that the following precautions are taken:
Remove all old seed.
Soak feeder in a light water/bleach solution (9 parts water to 1 part bleach).

It was fun watching the birds feed and the squirrels try to "break" this birdfeeder. It took them months but they funally did ruin it by eating a large hole in the plastic. What now?

Bought this in a store. Found it to be defective, so emailed Perty Pet. I was told response in 24 hours. After 4 days, I called. The woman I spoke with sent out replacement. PROBLEM: Bottom of seed tube falls off if a squirrel puts any weight on it. Need to come up with a better way to keep bottom on. The squirrels have chewed any plastic they can reach AROUND the cage. Very disapponinted with this product.
