Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing We purchased this feeder because of the "Squirrel-be-Gone" selling points. In theory this looks like a great feeder that would deter squirrels, however, this only worked for a couple weeks. The squirrels not only were not gone, but invited their friends to the awesome buffet at the new feeder. They managed to figure out how to open the top and chew a huge chunk of the thin, flimsy plastic tube and destroy our new feeder. Due to the design, we are not even able to hang it anymore because of the destruction that has been done. Unfortunately, we did not keep the receipt or packaging, which means we cannot return for a refund. I would NOT recommend this feeder if you have any squirrels you are wanting to give the message "be gone"!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not squirrel proof I bought this feeder last summer/fall and was happy with it until we got a lot of snow on the ground and the squirrels got more involved in trying to get at the bird feed. In the last week they got it off my shepherds hook 3 times and took the square cover completely off the top and the springs popped out of their holes. I then screwed the top to the plastic tube and inserted a 3/8 inch washer over the top of the mounting cable so it would not be so loose on the shepherds hook. So far the squirrels have not gotten it off the hook and gotten into the seed. No way should this be listed as "squirrel proof" unless some design modifications are made to the existing design.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great I have had this same feeder for years, and I am will pleased. I have had no problem with squirrels chewing on the plastic. Only problem I am having now is the plastic is getting old and cracking. I have been looking for a new one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Squirrel Proof Two weeks after I purchased this feeder I noticed squirrels had chewed through the plastic on the top of the feeder and were helping themselves to the sunflower seeds.I wish I had kept the receipt so I could have returned it. Do not buy this model feeder because it is junk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow it a great bird feeder! My Dad's 92 and loves feeding and watering the birdbath for his birds. He lives on the Coast of Texas so he has all types of birds to come through. He gets doves, parrots, hummingbirds and so many more.He sits under his out door fans and so enjoys watching them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well, but needs a slight design change We bought one of these and it generally works well. However I had to make a modification to it for it to be truly "squirrel proof". The stamped metal plug that makes up the bottom of the feeder should not have the large flare on it. Our squirrels learned to hop on the feeder, stand on the flared portion and push the cage up until the feed ports were uncovered. Several of them were able to figure this out. I took the plug out and cut off the flared portion right at the bend where the flare starts. Put the plug back in and we haven't seen a squirrel get into it in over a year. They have nothing to stand on now. I can't see any real use for the flare except as decoration.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Attractive feeder, but hard to clean. Would be better if I could figure out how to take this thing apart to clean it good. The "how-to" cleaning video you have posted under this item is NOT for this particular feeder, and does not help. This feeder has the spring mechanism that I cannot figure out how to take apart, and it's near impossible to get in there for a good cleaning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Works! We don't have squirrels but we have doves and they were constantly raiding the bird feeder. They can't raid this bird feeder. They just forage under the bird feeder looking for seeds that have fallen to the ground.
