I bought this feeder for my husband for Father's Day, to feed our numerous orioles in the yard! It looks great and the birds seem to be on it all the times! It looks really awesome along with our Jelly feeder and the hummingbird feedersDate published: 2016-07-04Rated 1 out of 5 by britemar from Leaks! Had feeder for a few weeks. I love the looks of it, but the design is very poor! Went to refill the bottle, & the part that holds the bottle in place, spins with the bottle. So, the base cannot be removed, rendering the feeder useless!!! It also has a slow leak through the base.Date published: 2016-07-04Rated 1 out of 5 by Linted from Very poor design This feeder is very attractive but virtually useless. It is impossible to fill the feeder without losing more than half the sugar syrup. I returned the first feeder but the second one was exactly the same. There is no gasket between the two parts of the base allowing all the liquid to leak out. Definitely a design flaw that renders the product useless.Date published: 2016-06-23Rated 2 out of 5 by mak6240 from Didn't work for the Orioles. The Orioles didn't visit the feeder once - just the bees, who worked their way through the holes and died by the hundreds. Can't figure out why.Date published: 2016-06-05Rated 1 out of 5 by jbsmith from Oriole vintage feeder Bought it yesterday...It doesn't work.... after filling, one-third of the liquid leaks out when inverting the container. Then, once an oriole or other bird lands on the feeder, tilting it slightly, there is an air bubble & more liquid leaks out. As with a previous reviewer, the orioles are not using the flower holes for nectar as they don't appear to be able to access the liquid. Bought feeders for several family members, now they buy perky pet items for there birds. The brand is made out of quality materials, that last for years NOT for a season. Always at a good price or on sale. I receive free shipping, due to always purchasing more than the required amount. Fast shipping, great service. Keep up the good work, myself and my birds THANK YOU!Date published: 2016-05-23Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from carnival glass vintage oriole feeder Mark, It looks like a hummingbird feeder with the Oriole colorDate published: 2016-05-23Rated 1 out of 5 by Mark from Looks great! Doesn't work! I bought this a week ago because I broke my plastic one and I thought it would look nice next to our glass Hummingbird feeder. It does look great, but the feeders design does't allow the liquid to rise high enough in the pan for the Orioles to reach it. I could see them stick their bills in and not get anything. So I checked the depth with a tooth pick and it was 3/4" from the flower. That's the approximate length of their bills. If you want a yard decoration then it's fine. If you want to feed the Orioles then get something else. This won't do it.Date published: 2016-05-21
How on earth can this feeder be used without loosing all the nectar? When I turned it over after filling it, most of the nectar spilled out immediately, then when I tried to hang it, more spilled out, leaving only a few ounces left.Once this feeder has been filled and bottle tightened to the base, we recommend walking with it upside down to the area where it is to be hung. Quickly flip the feeder over so that it is right-side up and a vacuum seal is formed. The feeder can then be carefully hung. It is very important to quickly flip the feeder as if it is done slowly, the nectar will pour out of the bottle and not create a proper vacuum seal.Date published: 2016-10-25
