Ordered this to replace the door which was ripped out by an animal exterior to those that live in the barn (I think it was a racoon, either very hungry or possibly on 'steroids'). Any rate - door was an easy and uncomplicated install, solid construction and works well to secure the barn. I very much like that the frame is metal, the pass through flap is thick plastic AND the security door has a 'pull knob' that allows you to not only close the door to traffic, it allows the door to be SECURED. Works well for cats and the barn - Great product.

Easy to install and works great! We have a mix of small pups (chihuahuas) and spaniels. They all have easy entry and exit. They range in size from 3 pounds to 60. Not a problem for all.

I've owned other pet doors, with the plastic frame and plastic locking panel. As my yellow lab grew larger he started jumping on it with his front paws and popping the panel out of its grooves and entering the house when he wasn't supposed to. This Havahart aluminum pet door solved my issue. It comes with a steel locking panel and an aluminum frame. No dog can pop this one open. The door has a white finish and was very easy to install in the previous door cut-out I had. It is a quality door that I would highly recommend for people with larger dogs.

This item has worked out very well for our family. We can go out for the day and don't have to rush home to let the dog out. It only took our dog about three days to get used to it. My only complaint is that it is not air tight. I think it would be more energy efficient with a different door design. We are going to try putting thin weather stripping around the frame. I'm not sure there is enough clearance to do it but we have to try something. I am concerned about heat loss and drafts, as that is the room our dog sleeps in.

I like the metal frame- much better than a plastic one. The flap is already breaking though. It doesn't seal air tight AT ALL which is a waste of energy.
Was moderately hard to put into the door, but I think that would be the same with any dog door.
My dog took to it immediately and uses it quite happily now.
