Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone® II Home-Style Bird Feeder

Perky-Pet Squirrel-Be-Gone II Home-Style Bird Feeder. Attract everything from cardinals, finches, flickers, and grackles to grosbeaks, jays, juncos, and kinglets--even sparrows, wrens, and woodpeckers. Best of all, this wild bird feeder provides an optimal feeding station for birds--without catering to those sneaky squirrels.

Sorry, Squirrels!

A charming addition to any outdoor space, this beautiful feeder features a weight-activated perch bar that closes to prevent squirrels from accessing the seed supply. Adjustable springs can be calibrated to accommodate different bird sizes and keep away nuisance birds as well as squirrels.

Easy to Fill and Use

This innovative Squirrel-Be-Gone II wild bird feeder comes fully assembled and makes a lovely addition to any personal collection or a thoughtful gift idea. This feeder holds up to 8 pounds of mixed, black oil sunflower, hulled sunflower, or safflower seed. After filling the bird feeder, simply hang it in the yard or mount it to a post, and watch as your feathered friends fly in to feast.

Suggested Placement

This wild bird feeder comes with a metal hanger for hanging near a back deck, porch, patio, or a window overlooking a garden or landscaped area in your yard. Choose a location that not only provides a great view, but that is also bird friendly. Birds prefer an open space, so they can easily move from one feeding port to the next. They also like to be in a location that gets both sun and partial shade during the day. An ideal location will be between 5 and 8 feet off the ground and within 15 feet of nearby coverage, like bushes and shrubs, so birds feel safe and protected from predators.

Cleaning the Feeder

Be sure to keep this bird feeder clean and filled with fresh seed to ensure happy birds and return visits. Perky-Pet recommends checking this bird feeder once a week for insects or mold and cleaning it every few weeks with a mild soap and water solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for our country home setting. I purchased two of your squirrel be gone feeders and saved money in doing so. The quality and workmanship are impressing. I will be making more purchases from this company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality and appearance I bought a set for my sister's birthday. When they arrived my husband liked them so well, we ordered them for him as well. They arrived today and are in use

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Who is more clever? Me or a squirrel? I just put one of these out a day ago. It is hanging from a long clothes line. Unfortunately, when I checked this morning, a squirrel was hanging by his rear legs from the roof of the feeder and reaching around with his front, right leg, taking food from the feeder. He never tipped the scale to shut it. My only relief may have to come by setting the feeder on a post, so there is nothing for the squirrel to hang from as he takes the seed. Perhaps lengthening the length of the wire to which the feeder is attached may make it harder for the little dickens to hold on to the feeder. I shall try again. I like the concept of this type of feeder, but the squirrel seems to like it, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these feeders! We bought these feeders about a month ago. Right after we filled them it rained for 7 straight days. I could not believe that the seed stayed dry and perfect. They hold a lot of seed and since the squirrels can no longer rob them, there is much less filling required. We did install on a new pole with Baffler and so far the pesky critters have not figured it out. The feeders are very pretty and well constructed. We highly recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it should. The only problem I have with it is the birds roost above the baffle and leave their pooh to be seen from below or above and regular rain does not wash it away.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love our feeders, but have really smart squirrels We love both of the feeders. We mounted the red one on a post with the mount and the green one is hanging from a tree branch. Our squirrels have figured out how to spring the hanger and tip the feeder forward. We have not seen this happen so we don't know how they manage it, but it has happened 3 times. Yes, we do plan to mount it eventually. Is it possible that the hanger springs with the weight of the squirrel when he tries to get to the seed at the front of the feeder therefore tipping it forward?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems good So far it is working well. I haven't had squirrels come yet, because it is summer. We will see what happens when fall comes. It looks like the squirrel could sit on the roof and lean over and get some seed. However if he does this--he will only be able to get one seed at a time--so we will see how much he gets. My squirrels are very intelligent and can figure out anything!
